REM - Young KJ (Hosted by DJ Grady)

This is a well put together mixtape, and it's definitely OFFICIAL. From tracks like "Kinfolk", "Dopa", "New Age" to "Northview Drive" this mixtape proves itself. Even I didn't know Young KJ was this good of a rapper. There are some pretty good head-bobbing instrumentals (pause), and good flow to cover em. KJ is reppin' his city, and doing it well. Be sure to download HERE, and hashtag #YoungKJ, #REM, #TheTrueAmazing on all the social networks. Show him some love on twitter @KJInDaBuilding.

A new mixtape was released today from a New York artist who I said will blow up within the next year. This is a Noisey Exclusive but you download here. The instrumentals are dope, rhymes are too. Bodega could actually kill the game with a little time.

Hi Skool ChronicKills - Writers Block

Who is Writers Block is the slogan for the groups mixtape, Hi Skool ChronicKills. Writers Block is a super talented HIP HOP (yes I said HIP HOP) group, containing 3 dope lyrical MC's. Haslyn Damani Parris Jr. (18) known by many as "Mani" or his stage name "MR.Y.U.C.K" started rapping at the young age of 5. He was heavily influenced by his father, the groups manager Haslyn Sr. aka "KAOS", who was a popular local Hip Hop figure in the 90s. Jalen Daniel Kent-Rivers (18) also known by many names including his alter egos of "J-Starr and YEZI" and his official stage name of "JR.THE PRINCE" started writing at 9, and never looked back since. He began recording heavily in middle school and performing at local talent shows and open mics becoming known as the best rapper in his school. Yuck and JR always tell the story about how in 9th grade they became a group after a series of heated rap battles due to prove who was the best MC around. Originally the group was just the two of these artist, but after doing a track with Kendrick Jerel Harris (19),also known by his stage name "Young KJ", and recording in his basement the group WRITERS BLOCK formed. This Hi Skool ChronicKills mixtape was a long project they recorded for the past 2 years and is basically a recap of the encounters of their High School life, their Prince Georges County background, and them looking back on how this dynasty started. Alot of the songs are from when they were 16 and 17. This tape also features many other artist such as Leticia aka GemNeye, Brea Wingbush, Tone from House of Paradise, and their street team "PaperBoys" who are some members of the independent Planet Kaos Entertainment record label.
